Microsoft today announced that desktop Apple TV and Apple Music apps will be available on Windows PCs next year, downloadable from the Microsoft Store. Early beta previews of these apps will launch on the Microsoft Store soon. The Apple partnership also expands to personal media, with the news that the Windows 11 Photos app is adding iCloud integration. This means Windows users can smoothly browse their iCloud Photo Library inside the stock Windows Photos app....

Apple is rolling out a new version of firmware to AirPods Pro 2 this afternoon, bringing Apple’s latest AirPods Pro to version 5.1.58 with build number 5B58 (up from 5A377). The update comes as users continue to complain of issues surrounding audio drifting and audio syncing. Audio drifting is an issue with headphones where the sound shifts between each side of the two earbuds. The audio will move back and forth between earbuds and can also get out of sync with videos....

Apple is breaking into the streaming video business, but not necessarily with a whole new service. The Cupertino, Calif.-based tech giant has original content in the works that will soon be available to consumers – and plans for more that have been compared to Westworld and Stranger Things. A hint toward the true intent of Apple’s streaming plans, however, came when the company created a new series based on late night host James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segments....

Apple will in future be able to assess the Apple Silicon environmental impact at an early stage in chip design, thanks to taking a lead role in a new research initiative. The program is likely to help with Apple’s stated environmental goal of becoming 100% carbon neutral by 2030. A little-known fact is that the carbon footprint of manufacturing a chip is greater than the footprint of all the energy it will consume during its entire lifetime of use, as a Cornell University study found....

A new photo from this year’s Arrowverse crossover event, Elseworlds, confirms John Wesley Shipp’s return as well as him wearing his Flash suit from the 1990 TV show, The Flash. Ever since it was announced that Shipp would be starring in The CW’s version of The Flash in 2014, comic book fans had hoped that he would ultimately play a speedster, thus providing some sort of nostalgia for fans of the original TV series....

AMC’s The Terror released a first look teaser and images from the upcoming miniseries event executive produced by Ridley Scott. The director’s hands have been full scrubbing Kevin Spacey from his new movie, inadvertently intimidating Denis Villeneuve on the Blade Runner 2049 set, and talking up the next chapter in the Alien franchise, but that hasn’t stopped him from taking part in the adaptation of this “true” tale. The upcoming miniseries has been in the works for what seems like ages, and now the fictionalized account of a harrowing expedition gone wrong is ready for the world to see, as the network begins its marketing campaign ahead of the March 2018 premiere date....

Following initial testing of iOS 15 that found many third-party apps could not exceed the standard 60Hz refresh rate of the iPhone 13 Pro’s ProMotion screen, Apple has now clarified the situation. The good news is that developers will be able to take full advantage of the 120Hz display soon. Apple says that developers will need to add a new Info.plist key to opt-in, and documentation is coming soon. In addition, a forthcoming software update will resolve a bug where animations driven by Core Animation were not able to reach the maximum 120Hz refresh rates....

Fans of Arrow can expect a much darker show in season 7, which will be similar in tone to its first season. When the news broke that Star Wars: Episode VIII was being delayed until Christmas 2017, many fans were concerned. Not only did it mean a few months longer to wait to find out what happens next, but it would also put the movie up against Avatar 2 at the box office. It turns out there wasn’t a need to worry, though; 20th Century Fox has confirmed to The Wrap that Avatar 2 won’t be coming out around Christmas 2017, despite comments that were made last month by director James Cameron....
