The film’s success was on the strength of a deep current in American life that hadn’t been tapped nearly enough by popular culture: That moms of young children are overworked, overburdened, under appreciated and could use a break. For all its flying aliens and costumed vigilantes, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice tried to keep a grounded feel to its superheroics. BiggSean66 claimed, in a tweet that went viral, to be on the receiving end of “up to 7 death threats” and “over 1600 individual personal attacks” because of “an unpopular feature in the game.” Garnering thousands of retweets and a lot of news coverage, BiggSean66’s tweet was a huge talking point in the on-going discussion about Battlefront II’s controversial launch....

Mark Hamill recently revealed the influence Sir Alec Guinness’ portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi had on his performance as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The upcoming sequel marks the eighth episode in the ongoing Star Wars saga that began 40 years ago with George Lucas’ original film, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (though they weren’t numbered back then). Throughout the original trilogy, audiences saw Luke training to become a Jedi Knight, partially under the tutelage of Obi-Wan and Yoda....

In a new offer to promote Apple Card, Apple is now offering $55 Daily Cash for new Apple Card holders who subscribe to a year of Wall Street Journal (WSJ) All Access Digital, which costs $4 a month for a year. Apple says the offer will cover the subscription costs for those applying for an Apple Card for the first time. Ahead of WWDC 2022 taking place on June 6, Apple is updating the Apple Developer app with everything developers will need during the Worldwide Developers Conference starting 11 days from now. Apple quietly expanded this week the availability of Ultra Wideband (UWB), which is present in some of its devices, to more countries. UWB technology is used by Apple’s U1 chip to provide precise location and spatial awareness. The expansion is likely part of iOS 14.7, which was released earlier this week to users. As noted by MacRumors, Ultra Wideband technology is now available in Argentina, Pakistan, Paraguay, and the Solomon Islands, according to a support page on Apple’s website....

In an interesting turn of events, Apple now has to pay its users money following the intentional iPhone slowdown controversy. It took a long time to conclude what began as a simple conspiracy theory, but it appears being skeptical in this case is about to pay off – literally. Apple subsidiary Claris has announced the release of ECF Records Manager. It’s an app created to help K-12 schools and libraries meet the requirements of a new $7 billion federal program to support remote learning. ECF Records Manager, created by iSolutions, is the first app launched as part of the Claris Smart Pack, a portfolio of Claris FileMaker apps, designed by premier Claris Partners, to help K-12 schools and libraries tackle a variety of challenges in addition to manual tasks, such as attendance tracking, transportation planning, event ticketing, and more....

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has been investigating antitrust concerns surrounding Apple since 2019. Most recently, it was reported that the DOJ had “accelerated” its investigation amid a growing number of complaints. Of all The CW’s DC Comics-based television series, Arrow is likely best suited to handling what may otherwise be known as “a very special episode.” The series has its fair share of fantastical elements, but unlike The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, or Supergirl, the network’s flagship comic book program can make the claim that it’s at least more grounded than its superhero sibling shows. That’s a dubious claim when the main character dresses in green leather and shoots bad guys with a bow and arrow, but considering the most recent plotline involves a politically inexperienced (former) billionaire with suspicious ties to Russia being elected to public office, perhaps Arrow isn’t entirely as farfetched as it seems....

Merry Christmas, Marvel fans! Netflix has announced that it will add Avengers: Infinity War on December 25. Easily the most anticipated and highest grossing film of 2018, Infinity War was released to theaters in April, and Blue Ray/DVD in July. Multiple MCU hits, including Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Age of Ultron have to come to Netflix post-theatrical release for subscribers to enjoy. This announcement means that families everywhere will be popping popcorn and huddling around their televisions come the end of December....
