The first film was such a success, critically and financially, that it garnered two sequels (which were released within six months of each other, oddly enough) and rounded out the crowning achievement of the Wichowski’s career as filmmakers and Keanu Reeves as an action star. The films offered original fighting choreography that bent the laws of physics, and then backed it up with science fiction to realize it....

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Apple has hired Desi Ujkashevic, a former Ford executive, to join the efforts of the Apple Car project. Since then, questions continue to arise on whether or not the ‘Apple Car’ will become a real thing. Also referred to as ‘Project Titan’, the project is working to create Apple’s first self-driving electric vehicle. A judge last month gave provisional approval to a proposed Apple Store bag check settlement, in which the Cupertino company has agreed to pay a four-figure sum to compensate employees in California for unpaid time waiting for off-the-clock searches. A tribute to Brazilian soccer player Pelé Pelé, whose real name was Edson Arantes do Nascimento, died in São Paulo, Brazil, at the age of 82. According to the hospital where he had been admitted since November 29, Pelé suffered from multiple organ failures as a result of colon cancer....

When it comes to movies based on video games, there’s always a concern among fans that the end result will be unfaithful to the source material; after all the video game movie genre has a pretty poor track record so far. Video game developer and publisher Ubisoft has been burned once before with the adaptation of its classic platformer Prince of Persia, which, in addition to receiving poor reviews from critics, is also by far the worst box office flop in the history of movies based on video games - purely in terms of how big its budget was, and how relatively small the returns were....
