With these versions, the company is enabling multi-user voice recognition in more countries to its smart speakers. Multi-user support was added to HomePod in 2019 with the release of iOS 13. With this feature enabled, Siri is able to learn and identify the voice of different people so they can make personal requests based on their own data....

As the world tries to recover from COVID-19, a new report shows that global smartwatch shipments grew 47% to pre-pandemic growth level in Q2 2021 with the Apple Watch leading the category and the Series 6 as the most popular smartwatch model. According to the latest research from Strategy Analytics, smartwatch shipments soared 47% annually to reach 18 million units in Q2 of 2021 with the Apple Watch maintaining the first position with 52% of the global smartwatch marketshare....

Marvel directors Joe and Anthony Russo talk about capping off the long-running narrative they started in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in the still-untitled Avengers 4. Teaming up with Captain America trilogy scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely for the third and fourth time, the Russos have the massive task of culminating the 22-film-arc that the MCU has been treading since 2008’s Iron Man. But for the two personally, the films will complete the personal narrative they’ve been telling since 2014’s highly-acclaimed The Winter Soldier....

It looks like that Bad Boys TV show spin-off is one step closer to reality, as NBC has ordered a pilot. The original Bad Boys served as the directorial debut for Michael Bay, who managed to make the modestly budgeted production look ten times more expensive. It was filled with slick action and snappy one-liners, and helped Will Smith make the leap from television to movies. In spite of the movie’s success, it took another eight years for the team to reunite for 2003’s Bad Boys II....

It’s not exactly a secret that Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has a lot on its plate. The film has to continue the story for Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent, while also introducing a plethora of new characters to the blossoming DC Extended Universe. Among the high profile additions are Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as the new Lex Luthor, and possible cameos for other members of the Justice League....

Following Apple Music’s redesign of its widgets, Beats for Android is adding some to let you quickly manage headphones from the homescreen, while the companion app is also getting a “Locate My Beats” capability. Update 4/16: Version 2.5.5 of Beats for Android is now rolled out in Google Play with the new widgets and Locate My Beats functionality. The two widgets are functionally identical with one being taller than the other....

The terror of AMC’s The Terror may be over, but the series will definitely return for a second season as the network transitions it into a fictional-horror anthology series. The series was initially based on the novel of the same name by Dan Simmons, which told a fictionalized account of the mid-19th century journey of the HMS Erebus and the HMS Terror to discover the Northwest Passage. What followed was a story of survival that included mutiny, cannibalism, and a supernatural presence stalking the survivors as they attempted to flee the arctic with their lives....

Tomorrow during the “California Streaming” event, Apple is set to announce the new iPhone 13. The problems faced by tertiary Apple display supplier BOE appear to have gone from bad to worse, according to a new report. The company is now in danger of losing all orders for the iPhone 14. Too many of the company’s displays were failing to pass quality control checks, and BOE reportedly tried to solve this by quietly changing the specs – without telling Apple … Background Chinese display manufacturer BOE was only ever third-placed in Apple’s supply chain, behind Samsung and LG, but was still hoping to make as many as 40M OLED screens this year for a range of iPhone models....

Apple made some changes to how AirPods integrate with the Settings app with iOS 16. Now, with iOS 16 now available to the general public, Apple is building on these updates with a new support document that finally provides release notes for AirPods firmware updates… With iOS 16 beta 5, Apple added more details to the AirPods information available in the Settings app. Specifically, the company added a dedicated area to view AirPods firmware version details....

Apple today released the second beta of iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 for developers, which comes with child communication safety features in iMessage and a Hide My Email option in Apple’s Mail app. Interestingly, today’s beta also brings a refreshed design to the Apple TV app on iPad with a new sidebar. In addition, there’s now a dedicated Store tab in the app. The first thing iPad users will notice when they first open the Apple TV app on their iPad is a new sidebar, which replaces the tab bar at the bottom of the screen....

Aquaman’s visually stunning end title sequence has been released and is now available to watch online. Similar to other superhero films in the DCEU and MCU, the end title sequence in Aquaman includes polished and stylized renders highlighting major locations and characters from the film. Directed by James Wan, Aquaman reunited fans with Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry after his stint with the World’s Finest in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Set after Steppenwolf’s failed attempt to take over the world, Aquaman unveiled DC’s half-human/half-Atlantean as he made his way to his mother’s place of origin and reclaimed his place as the rightful heir to its throne....

Here’s how Archer season 8 episode 2 paid homage to cult classic Weekend At Bernie’s. Archer debuted on FX back in 2009 and follows the adventures of the titular character, a handsome, egotistic spy with a serious drinking problem. The show was a parody of the spy movies of the 1960s, with the Roger Moore-era James Bond films being a big influence. The show mines much of its comedy from the interpersonal issues between Archer and the people he works with, including his mother Mallory, voiced by Jessica Walter (Arrested Development)....

Although Avengers: Infinity War comes from different directors, the movie will still respect the style and tone of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. With the recent trailer descriptions coming from D23, it seems like third Avengers movie isn’t limiting itself in scale - this has been in the works from Marvel for a decade after all. But it’s also going to be funny; the first time the Guardians meet one of the Avengers will be laced with comedy, seeing Thor smashing into the Milano to a flippant response from Rocket....
