Apple Music today launched a new set of DJ mixes recorded in Dolby Atmos, enabling Apple Music subscribers to listen to the mixes in Spatial Audio. You can listen to the first one here. New Spatial Audio mixes will be rolling out every month. Alongside the launch, Apple is relaunching the ‘One Mix’ series which showcases the best DJs from around the world. The heroes of the Arrowverse team up with Batwoman in a brand-new poster for this year’s “Elseworlds” crossover event. This will mark the third time the heroes have banded together, outside of guest appearances in each other’s shows. They previously joined forces to halt an alien invasion and defeat fascist doppelgängers in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Although the Waverider crew from Legends of Tomorrow will not feature this year, opting instead for its own crossover, it promises to be their biggest and strangest collective outing yet....

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Spider-Man: Homecoming An image of an unused Spider-Man: Homecoming costume design has been revealed, thanks to a tweet by character designer and concept artist Ryan Meinerding. Meinerding did “a lot of designs for the ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ suit,” and based this unused suit design on Dan Slott and Ryan Stegman’s costume from the Superior Spider-Man comic series. The webhead received several costume changes in the recent commercially-and-critically successful reboot, but unfortunately, this homage to the Superior Spider-Man run was left on the cutting room floor....

Six years will have passed since Andy Serkis first played the genetically-altered ape Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, by the time that War for the Planet of the Apes - the third installment in the rebooted Planet of the Apes series - reaches theaters in 2017. Serkis has continued to hone his motion-capture acting craft in the franchise and with other roles, such as that of Supreme Leader Snoke in the Star Wars movies....

Back in 2021, Apple announced a number of new child safety features, including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) detection for iCloud Photos. However, the move was widely criticized due to privacy concerns. After putting it on hold indefinitely, Apple has now confirmed that it has stopped its plans to roll out the CSAM detection system. Apple will no longer scan for CSAM in iCloud Photos On the same day that the company announced Advanced Data Protection with end-to-end encryption for all iCloud data, it also put an end to the never-released CSAM scan....

With the introduction of the new Mac Studio and Studio Display, Apple quietly discontinued the 27-inch iMac – which was still sold with an Intel processor. While the company told the press that the 27-inch iMac is gone for good, rumors were suggesting that Apple has a new “iMac Pro” in the works, but this may no longer be the case. Apple today launched its first standalone original podcast series, entitled ‘Hooked’. Apple’s previous podcast releases have all been tied to Apple TV+ properties (such as The Line) or Apple News (Apple News Today). No such TV project has been announced — so far — for Hooked. Hooked is a nine-part true crime podcast about the true story of Tony Hathaway, whose opioid addition led him down a career in bank robbery....

Apple’s former senior director of corporate law and corporate secrecy has officially admitted to partaking in an insider trading scheme. Gene Levoff was first indicted for insider trading in 2019, and while he was initially fighting the charges, he has now admitted to his role in these insider trading transactions. Levoff started at Apple in 2008 and served as a senior director of corporate law from 2013 until 2018. The trades in question were made between 2011 and 2016, the indictment says....

Following the official launch of the iPad mini 6 last Friday, Apple is today reminding developers to get their apps ready for the new iPad mini’s 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display. Due to the new size and resolution, some apps may not run in full screen until they are updated. According to a post on the Apple Developer website, most apps with Auto Layout enabled should work fine with the new iPad mini 6 display....

The third season of the popular Apple TV+ original Dickinson is slated to premiere later this year on November 5. As reported by Variety today, however, Apple TV+ has also now announced that the third season will be the final season for the show.
