Green aluminum models are paired with the new clover sport band, blue aluminum models are paired with the new abyss blue sport band, while the red aluminum models are paired with the refreshed red sport band. Starlight and midnight aluminum models both come with their corresponding sport bands. All five aluminum configurations are available in 41mm and 45mm sizes and with both GPS and LTE. The stainless steel configurations that Apple is planning to offer include gold stainless steel with the new dark cherry sport band or the gold Milanese loop, the silver stainless steel with starlight sport band or the silver Milanese loop, and the graphite stainless steel with either the abyss blue sport band or graphite Milanese loop....

That there would be another season of Arrested Development on Netflix has long been a matter of “when” and not “if.” Most of the top people involved with the series have said so ever since season 4 premiered in 2013, with Brian Grazer revealing in an interview in April that a 17-episode season was on the way. Netflix’s content chief said in July that talks with the actors were underway....

Avengers: Infinity War has continued its box office record-breaking streak by scoring the biggest opening day of all time in Russia, where it grossed $4.9 million on Thursday. As the movie opened in new international markets this week, it crossed the $1 billion mark at the box office, and is well on its way to becoming the biggest superhero movie of all time. Bringing together almost every superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Infinity War is a galaxy-spanning epic battle to prevent cosmic supervillain Thanos from acquiring all six Infinity Stones and using them to wipe out half of all life in the universe....

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Avengers: Infinity War - There’s one major problem with Avengers: Infinity War: in spite of all comments to the contrary, it’s clear the character deaths aren’t permanent. Like the comic books that inspire it, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a history of fake death scenes. Black Panther, Nick Fury, Bucky Barnes, War Machine, and even Tony Stark himself; all have had scenes where they’ve been on the verge of death....

Newly released commentary on Avengers: Infinity War reveals just how much of the film is CGI… and the answer may be even more than audieces might expect. Along with Avengers: Infinity War’s home release, Marvel has created a ton of new material, including deleted scenes, audio commentary, and the “Beyond the Battle” featurettes, which explore the creation of key scenes in the film. This supplementary material contains wealth of new information about the third Avengers film....

Now that the movie formerly known as Prometheus 2 is officially part of the Alien franchise, under the title Alien: Covenant, it has a different set of expectations to live up to. While Prometheus was a prequel to the Alien series in a looser sense, Alien: Covenant will have to satisfy Alien fans in a way that Prometheus did not. For one thing, it must have xenomorphs, and luckily that box has already been checked by director Ridley Scott, who assures fans the characters in the upcoming installment will “come across the evolving creature” made by the engineers....

While the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro updates have been broadly well-received by reviewers and consumers alike, there are still questions about missing features like a touchscreen and Face ID. Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Apple executives justified the company’s resistance to adding these features to the Mac. While Chromebook and Windows PC manufacturers have broadly adopted touchscreens in laptops, Apple has not. Instead, the company is focusing on “indirect input” on the Mac and saving touchscreen technology for the iPad....

Apple News local news coverage is rolling out to Canada, starting with Toronto and Montreal. It follows a recent expansion of the service in the US. Apple is reportedly ramping up its efforts to bring more iPhone part production in-house. According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is building out a new office focused on the development of in-house chips, replacing chips that are currently provided by Broadcom and Skyworks. The report explains that Apple is looking to hire a “few dozen people” to develop chips in Irvine, California. Coincidentally, this is close to where Skyworks and Broadcom also have offices....

After seeding the second beta to developers this week, Apple has officially launched the public beta for macOS Monterey. The new software is available to test out for free and comes with new features like FaceTime’s SharePlay, AirPlay to Mac, Focus mode, the Shortcuts app, and much more. The first macOS Monterey public beta officially launched on Apple’s public beta website today (via MacStories’ Federico Viticci). New features and changes coming with macOS 12 Monterey include a totally redesigned Safari, Shortcuts app arriving on the Mac, FaceTime’s new SharePlay feature, Universal Control to seamlessly work across multiple Apple devices, a new Focus mode, Quick Notes, AirPlay to Mac, and more....

Apple today is releasing another version of Safari Technology Preview for macOS Big Sur and macOS Monterey. This time, the update brings bug fixes and performance improvements. With Safari Technology Preview 129, Apple is improving performance and bringing bug fixes for the Web Inspector, CSS, Scrolling, Rendering, WebAssembly, Web API, Platform Features, IndexedDB, Media, WebGL, and WebCrypto. For those unfamiliar, Safari Technology Preview is an alternative version of Apple’s web browser focused on developers as it comes with beta features that are not yet available in the regular version of Safari....

After a few weeks of testing, Apple is releasing today’s watchOS 7.6 RC version to all users. This version brings bug fixes and ECG capability to more regions. The build version of watchOS 7.6 RC is 18U63. According to Apple’s release notes, watchOS 7.6 RC brings support for the ECG app and irregular heart rhythm notifications on Apple Watch Series 4 or later in 30 additional regions. In order to get out of prison in Arrow season 7, it’s theoretically possible that Oliver Queen will have to form a new Suicide Squad. Years ago, the Arrowverse adapted Task Force X (aka the Suicide Squad) into live-action on the small screen - even though the comic book team appeared briefly in Smallville just a few years prior - before Warner Bros. Pictures had the chance to do it themselves on the big screen....

A new Apple antitrust case has been opened in India, the day after another one ended in Japan. Both cases relate to Apple’s cut of App Store sales. New information regarding Avengers: Infinity War confirms Bucky Barnes will shed the Winter Soldier moniker and become the White Wolf. Comics are well-known for reviving characters and crafting new identities for them, but the post-Bronze Age for Marvel and DC has proven to be especially adept at rebranding sidekicks. Jason Todd returned from the dead to become the Red Hood, while Marvel pulled a similar move when they revived Captain America’s wartime partner Bucky and transformed him into the Winter Soldier....

Thanos has been a part of the MCU for roughly four years now, having first shown up in a post-credits scene after the original Avengers movie back in 2012. That makes him easily the most heavily teased movie villain of all time, but eventually all that teasing will come to an end when Marvel’s The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is released in May of 2018. In the comic books, Thanos has been around even longer....
