After former Apple treasurer Gary Wipfler retired, the company had yet to announce its new treasurer. According to a report by Bloomberg, Michael Shapiro is its new corporate treasurer. As for now, Apple didn’t announce it publicly, so Bloomberg’s story quotes people familiar with the matter. Michael Shapiro is a longtime executive at Apple and works on corporate records as a member of the cash management group based in Reno, Nevada....

Apple TV+ today released the season three trailer for its supernatural psychological thriller series Servant, written by Tony Basgallop and produced by M. Night Shyamalan. Watch the trailer below. Apple is teaming up with the popular “buy now, pay later” service Affirm to expand financing options for iPhone, iPad, and Mac buyers in Canada. According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple will launch this program in Canada sometime this month at online and physical retail stores. In the United States, Apple shoppers can finance purchases using Apple Card, but this is not available anywhere outside of the U.S. Through this Affirm partnership, however, Apple will be able to offer financing over 12 months or 24 months for new iPhone, iPad, and Mac purchases....

Nintendo Co. made a major announcement regarding the company’s future at a news conference in Osaka today, introducing Nintendo’s new president to the world. The gaming industry giant is entrusting its future to Shuntaro Furukawa, who is taking over the company’s presidency from Tatsumi Kimishima. This announcement was coupled alongside Nintendo’s profit forecast reaching the highest it has been since 2010. Furukawa is an industry veteran, but at just 46 years of age, he’s 22 years younger than exiting president Kimishima....

App Store users and developers in Australia have reported today that Apple has featured scam apps on the App Store. This time, in a “Slime Relaxations” story, the company is promoting apps that have $10+ weekly subscriptions, many of which don’t do anything. Since the Epic vs. Apple court case took place a few months ago, the Cupertino company said that it would be bad to let other companies and developers sideload apps on the iPhone or even have competing app stores....

Apple last month announced WWDC 2022, another edition of its annual developer conference. This year, however, Apple let developers register for an in-person event at Apple Park.
