The Apple Podcasts Award winner for 2022 has been announced. Apple named Slow Burn as its show of the year, for its coverage of the history of the landmark abortion rights case, Roe v. Wade. The Cupertino company has also announced the availability of six Slow Burn Extras, one of which is about the making of the Roe v. Wade episode … Apple made the announcement today. Although an issue on which feelings run high, the podcast episode aimed to bring a broader perspective to those on both sides of the debate....

Citi analysts give five reasons to buy Apple stock despite its target price being going down, according to MarketWatch. The reasonings include the launch of iPhone 14, a shift toward premium models, a $90 billion stock buyback, a potential for more devices-as-a-service, and upcoming new product categories. While shares are down, Apple will reveal third-quarter results at the end of the month. The MarketWatch article cites that the loss is less than other tech giants like Microsoft, Alphabet, and Meta....

Armie Hammer apologizes for his recent social media outburst chastising those who post pictures of themselves with the late Stan Lee following the Marvel Comics co-creator’s death. The prolific comic book writer died at the age of 95 due to a series of recent health issues leaving behind a lasting legacy that forever shaped the entertainment industry. In June 2017 we traveled to Pinewood Atlanta Studios where Marvel Studios has set up shop the last few years, making it their home base for most of their feature film productions. It began with Ant-Man and is currently being used for Captain Marvel, with many other Marvel movies in between, but last summer the company’s biggest project ever was underway - Avengers: Infinity War. After seeing Joss Whedon work on Avengers: Age of Ultron (that one shot in London), watching Alan Taylor work on massive set pieces for Thor: The Dark World and Anthony and Joe Russo shoot parts of Captain America: Civil War’s infamous airport sequence, it’s hard to imagine it getting bigger....

With this progressive figure on her way, we can have many fresh takes on the Bat-Family that have been crafted across DC mediums. Now that Batwoman will be on the forefront rather than Batman, we need to see her interacting with those characters who can elevate her characterization; this means the Bat-Family members that have a logic to be introduced should be on the show....

Released last summer, Beats Studio Buds just got a new special edition, this time in partnership with the Amsterdam clothing brand Daily Paper. In this version, the Buds have a graffiti-looking case with white earbuds and a Daily Paper sign in red. Apart from the new-looking case and the stylized buds, Beats Studio Buds have the same features and sound quality as previous iterations. The Beats Studio Buds don’t feature a stern, and have a dial-like shape, with a ridge on the outside that features the Beats logo....

Apple’s ongoing battle with AliveCor continues as Apple is found guilty of infringing on patented technology on Apple Watch. AliveCor, a maker of personal electrocardiogram (ECG) technology, claims the tech giant monopolizes the industry among other complaints. AliveCor first filed a complaint in April of last year with the ITC alleging Apple of patent infringement. Additionally, in May 2021, AliveCor filed an anti-competition complaint against the tech giant. In the suit, the company also claims Apple “injured competition, reduced consumer choice, and potentially damaged public health....

At the end of February, Apple announced it was suspending Apple Pay in Russia due to the war against Ukraine. While Visa and Mastercard cards were made immediately unavailable, the Russian Mir card was still working with Apple’s own payment service, but not anymore. Reuters reported that Russia’s home-grown system Mir “remained connected to Apple Pay until that access was removed on Thursday, according to Russia’s National Card Payment System (NSPK)....

Apple Pay in Russia was last month suspended by the Cupertino company as one of a range of sanctions against the country for its invasion of Ukraine. A class action lawsuit has now been filed against Apple, arguing that Russian consumers have been harmed by losing access to the electronic wallet service. Apple’s new Peanuts series Snoopy in Space has released its first trailer. Originally kicking off as a four panel comic strip that appeared in seven newspapers in 1950, Peanuts went on to become a global phenomenon, eventually appearing in 21 different languages, throughout 75 different countries worldwide. Created by Charles M. Schulz, Peanuts gave rise to numerous lovable characters, which even today - some 69 years later - are instantly recognizable....

Apple this week announced Studio Display, which features a 27-inch 5K panel combined with a camera, microphones, and speakers that work together when the user connects the display to a Mac. What about Windows? If for some reason you need to use Apple’s $1599 monitor with a Windows PC, you can, but there are some limitations. An Apple spokesperson told The Verge that Studio Display is identified as a regular display when plugged into a Windows PC via the Thunderbolt connection (which not every PC supports)....
