A Friday report indicated that Apple was having trouble with its rumored AR/VR headset due to overheating, camera, and software challenges, which could make the company delay its plans to unveil its Mixed Reality headset this year. Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is back with some more tidbits regarding the product. In previous reports, Gurman had indicated that Apple’s AR/VR headset will be “pricey.” Although analysts were predicting the product will cost around $3,000, Bloomberg’s journalist says in his latest Power On newsletter that Apple has discussed price points above $2,000....

Apple has developed a new iPhone display solution for its retail stores that highlights MagSafe wireless charging, eliminates cable clutter, and makes iPhones more approachable to customers. Today, tables at every Apple Store use white polycarbonate risers with a row of Lightning connectors to spotlight every model in the iPhone family. The risers contain product information, loose security tethers, and visible cables to power each phone. Apple’s latest solution replaces Lightning docks entirely in favor of four MagSafe chargers mounted on stainless steel arms....

Apple TV+ today officially announced that it will stream a new documentary about popular singer and actress Selena Gomez, entitled My Mind and Me. A firm release date for the film was not announced. The Apple Original Film ‘Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me’ will be directed by Alec Keshishian, following Gomez’s mental health journey, after years in the limelight. Gomez began as a child star on the Disney Channel, built up a successful pop music career as an artist, and currently performs in the hit Hulu series ‘Only Murders in the Building’, from which she earned an Emmy nomination this awards season....

According to The Verge’s Zoe Schiffer, Apple will begin requiring that its employees working in retail stores or offices are tested for COVID-19. The new policy will go into effect from next month. The company is still not mandating vaccines, a decision that stands in stark contrast to most other major tech companies (although Apple has a disproportionally higher proportion of retail workers to manage). However, the required frequency of testing will apparently be higher for those who are unvaccinated....

The CW’s Arrow has been having something of a revival lately. After spawning the Arrowverse which birthed The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl, Oliver Queen’s adventures became mired in the doldrums for two seasons. More art for Avengers 4 has found its way online, giving up new character details ahead of the secretive MCU culmination. Officially, there’s not been much concrete information about next year’s untitled Avengers sequel, with Marvel letting Avengers: Infinity War’s cliffhanger ending do most of the talking. However, that doesn’t mean some info hasn’t made it out, From set photos, we were able to deduce that Avengers 4 will be dealing with time travel, and art shown at CineEurope gave a first look at the heroes of the film - the OG Avengers plus snap-survivors Ant-Man, Rocket, Nebula and Captain Marvel - and their redesign....

Netflix has acquired director Andy Serkis’ live-action/CGI The Jungle Book retelling Mowgli from Warner Bros. and plans to begin streaming the movie around the globe next year. The film was most recently set to hit theaters in October, but was scheduled to arrive in 2016 and then 2017 before that. Written by Callie Kloves, Mowgli has been in development for around four years, in no small part to allow sufficient time to complete the effects on the film’s digitally rendered animals (who were portrayed via motion-capture by the cast here)....

He may have had brief appearances in other films, but this was the movie that was tasked with showing him as a threat....

Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely admit they were also confused by some inconsistencies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On its 19th film, Marvel Studios is bringing together the whole MCU in what will be the beginning of the culmination of everything that has transpired in the MCU since 2008’s Iron Man. The film pits the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and some of the MCU’s independent heroes against Mad Titan Thanos and his children, The Black Order, as they make sure that that the villainous team doesn’t get their hands on the six Infinity Gems needed to execute their universe altering plans....
