Richard Greenberg - noted opening title designer and visual effects producer for classics like Alien and Superman - has died at the age of 71. It’s a sad day for Hollywood, as the man responsible for helping to create some of the most iconic opening credits sequences in history has passed on, according to Deadline. A specific cause of death for Greenberg has yet to be reported, but he’s been confirmed to have died on June 16, in New York City....

With supply chain disruptions and the war in Ukraine, Apple is said to have cut iPhone orders for 2022, with another drop coming in the near future. Apple has announced a handful of changes coming to the App Store in response to a class-action lawsuit from US developers. One of the most notable changes is that developers can now communicate with users about alternative payment solutions outside of their applications. This class-action lawsuit was first filed in 2019. This is not the Epic vs Apple case, but rather a lawsuit brought against Apple from small developers. These changes to the App Store apply to all developers in the App Store in the United States and other countries....

The creator is perhaps best known for his work on Battlestar Galactica, where he spearheaded the revised series to much critical acclaim and fan praise. It’s gone down as one of the most impressive moments in science fiction television. Of course, Moore’s work over the years has gone further than simply Battlestar Galactica. Before his time on Battlestar, Moore worked on a number of Star Trek series, from The Next Generation through to Voyager....

After Counterpoint Research revealed that the iPhone 13 continues to dominate as the global best-selling smartphone in April, the company has now shared new data that shows that Apple takes 62% of the premium market in the first quarter of 2022. The study reveals that Apple reached its highest first-quarter share in the premium segment since Q1 2017. In addition, even with the global premium smartphone market sales volume declining 8% YoY during the quarter, it has still performed better than the overall smartphone market, which declined by 10%....

In early 2020, Apple joined the FIDO Alliance, an open industry association created to increase the interoperability of authentication methods and reduce reliance on traditional passwords. Now Apple, Google, and Microsoft have committed to expanding support for the FIDO Standard, moving toward a universal “passwordless” sign-in method. The new standard, which was created by FIDO and the World Wide Web Consortium, aims to allow apps and websites to offer a unified and secure login option across different devices and platforms....

A new line of Aquaman action figures seen on the floor of San Diego Comic-Con 2018 provide the best look yet at the hulking character, the Brine King. Little is known specifically about the character, but judging by his build and size, he will be an imposing figure for Arthur Curry to face. Aquaman’s inclusion of The Brine was first revealed during the film’s set visit, where we learned that Arthur’s half-brother, Orm, will attempt to unite the different underwater tribes against the surface world....
