LA’s Finest, the Bad Boys spinoff series, has been picked up by Charter Communications. The series, starring Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba, was given a full 13-episode order. With Pam Veasey (CSI: New York) onboard as co-showrunner, along with The Blacklist writers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier, the series is set to premiere on Charter’s Spectrum cable platform sometime in 2019. The series picks up with Gabrielle Union’s Bad Boys II character, Sydney ‘Syd’ Burnett - sister of Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) - as she moves to Los Angeles....

Electronic Arts still has a slate of paid expansions on the way for Star Wars Battlefront, starting with the recently released Outer Rim DLC and then three more packs to follow. The publisher hopes this will extend the game’s lifespan by at least another year since Battlefront 2 anytime soon - at least anytime. Instead, EA is planning to release the next installment of another major shooter franchise in 2016....

Arizona-born actress Alexandra Shipp hit the big screen like a force of nature in X-Men: Apocalypse, playing a young and naïve Storm. In the superhero-stuffed prequel, she carved out a backstory for the character first played by Halle Berry in 2000’s X-Men. By the end of Apocalypse, the weather-bending mutant had been recovered from the malevolent brainwashing of the titular villain, and enrolled in Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. Which should suggest Shipp will reprise the role the in-the-works sequel, reportedly set in the 1990s....

It’s been a long road for EA to bring its battle royale hit to mobile devices but there is officially an Apex Legends iOS release date (Android too). Apple and Samsung laptops are leading global growth in the notebook computer sector, according to a new TrendForce report. It says that laptop sales grew by almost 26% last year, and are set for a further 15% boost this year … TrendForce said that while Chromebooks will be key, Apple Silicon Macs will also play an important role in continued high demand. The market intelligence firm does expect a slowdown next year....

Nine days after seeding watchOS 8.4.1, Apple is releasing today watchOS 8.4.2 to Apple Watch users. The build number is 19S553. This update comes just after Apple announced changes related to AirTags due to stalking concerns. According to the release notes, this version brings security updates and bug fixes for Apple Watch owners. watchOS 8.4, which was released on January 26, fixed a bug that prevented Apple Watch from being recharged with some third-party chargers....

Apple will soon open a brand new store in East Rutherford, New Jersey, as the company has opened positions in this location on the Apple Jobs site. Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo have debunked a fan theory claiming the movie’s memorable “I love you 3000” line was actually a reference to the combined 3000 minute runtime of all the MCU movies. The line “I love you 3000” was of course first uttered by Tony Stark’s daughter Morgan during a touching domestic scene in Endgame, and later took on greater poignancy when Stark’s hologram said the line back to Morgan during his funeral (Stark having sacrificed himself to save the universe from Thanos)....

Beats Studio Buds are getting a new edition in collaboration with Twitch streamer NICKMERCS Kolcheff. This is the third partnership with Beats since the company released the 2021 Studio Buds earbuds. Each earbud features the letters MFAM (Mercs family), paying tribute to his loyal Twitch community, and the Spartan crest designed on the charging case, referencing his Greek heritage surname. Beats says Kolcheff has a long partnership with the company, having already collaborated on two brand launches with FaZe Clan and also in “various activations on Twitch to promote Beats Fit Pro and Beats Studio Buds....

To celebrate the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming in Japan, a beautifully drawn poster for the film in the style of a comic illustration has surfaced online. Spidey’s solo debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe launched around the world at the beginning of July and has grossed over $650 million dollars worldwide. In the United States, the film is creeping towards a $300 million dollar gross, on track for a third place finish in Summer 2017 behind fellow superhero films Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol....
