Just one day after the release of iOS 16.1, Apple is restarting the beta testing process yet again. The company has now released the first betas of iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 to developers, as well as macOS Ventura 13.1 and watchOS 9.2. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is getting some new additions, including a Discovery Tour of the game, as well as a story creator mode that lets players create quests that they can share with other players. Ubisoft confirmed Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in 2018, with the game releasing later that year. In the title, players take on the role of a Misthios, the child of a Spartan family, who inherits the legendary Spear of Leonidas....

Alita: Battle Angel star Rosa Salazar says that she would love to return for multiple sequels, should they ever happen. After spending years stuck in early development, the live-action film adaptation of Yukito Kishiro’s cyberpunk sci-fi manga series, Battle Angel Alita, finally hit theaters back in February. Directed by Robert Rodriguez and co-written by James Cameron, Alita: Battle Angel (as the movie was retitled) featured The Maze Runner trilogy’s Rosa Salazar as Alita, a cyborg who awakens in a brand-new body with no memory of who she is or what she’s designed to do....

A report by The Elec from early today claims Apple will introduce an under-display Face ID sensor on the iPhone 15 Pro in 2023. DSCC analyst Ross Young, who has a great record of Apple leaks over the past months, contradicts the report and says the technology could land on iPhone 16 at the earliest. Rumors about under-screen Face ID have been surfacing the web for a while. Currently, Apple Music offers four different subscription plans for its users: individual, student, family, and Voice Plan (limited to a few countries). Now, college students from several regions are receiving an email warning that its discount will be reduced, as Apple is raising the price of Apple Music for students. On Twitter, a student from South Africa posted the email Apple sent them about Apple Music’s increased price: MacRumors was able to confirm that not only South African subscribers will have to pay more for the student plan, but users in Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, India, Indonesia, Israel, and Kenya are also seeing a price increase....

An Apple optical data transfer patent granted yesterday could facilitate super-fast communications between devices. The patent says that the technology could offer transfer speeds of “terabits per second” … Background Optical data transfer is of course nothing new. Apple keeps expanding its Apple TV+ presence as the streaming service is rolling out to Comcast’s US platforms. After launching about two years ago, Apple TV+ expanded from Apple’s own devices to several set-top boxes, Smart TVs, and even videogame consoles. Now, the Cupertino company’s streaming service is rolling out to Comcast’s services, which includes: Xfinity X1; Xfninity Flex; XClass TV. According to Comcast’s press release, Apple TV+ will be available across “all eligible devices” in the coming days....
