Warner Bros. is developing an animated Batman Beyond movie for theatrical release. The film will be based on the animated series of the same name, which ran from 1999-2001. Batman Beyond was a follow-up to the immensely popular Batman: The Animated Series. The show takes place in a future Gotham with an aging Bruce Wayne finally choosing to abandon the mantle of Batman. After many years without the Dark Knight protecting Gotham, Terry McGinnis stumbles upon the secret of Bruce’s former life....

Beats earlier today introduced new truly wireless Beats Fit Pro earbuds after they were leaked last month. However, the company has also quietly discontinued three other headphones in the Beats family, which are the Powerbeats, Beats Solo Pro, and Beats EP. Just after the new Beats Fit Pro hit stores today, the company seems to have killed these three other Beats headphones, as they are no longer available on the Apple or Beats website....

This year’s Nintendo E3 2019 Direct was jam-packed with release dates — 35 of them specifically spaced out over this year and next year. Although many fans were skeptical of Ant-Man when Edgar Wright left the project because of creative differences with Marvel Studios, some felt the project was still in good hands with director Peyton Reed at the helm. When Apple Music announced support for Lossless and Dolby Atmos a few months ago, the company said the catalog would start with 20 million songs with Lossless support and would have all its 90 million songs in the quality by the end of the year. As of December 28, Apple appears to have reached the goal. While you may have songs in your library with only the Apple Digital Master label, it’s likely that it’s reminiscent of an iTunes purchase, since the company announced that none of the audio content bought on iTunes would feature Lossless or Spatial Audio support....

Following the release of iOS 16.1.2 on November 30, Apple has now stopped signing both iOS 16.1 and iOS 16.1.1. This means that iPhone and iPad users can no longer downgrade from iOS 16.1.2 or newer versions of the operating system. iOS 16.1 and iOS 16.1.1 no longer signed by Apple iOS 16.1 was released in October with multiple new features and enhancements, such as iCloud Shared Photo Library, Fitness+ for iPhone users, Live Activities, and more....

One of Apple’s semiconductor experts, Kim Woo-Pyeong, is going to work for a major competitor – Samsung Electronics. Woo-Pyeong is serving as director of the company’s newly established Packaging Solution Center in Device Solution America (DSA), according to Business Korea. Woo-Pyeong has experience working for Texas Instruments and Qualcomm, an Apple supplier. This recruitment from Samsung comes after he has spent nearly nine years working at Apple. One of the few new features of the Apple Watch Series 7 is support for fast charging, which results in 33% faster charging time when compared to the Apple Watch Series 6. However, Apple says that fast charging requires a new USB-C cable (which now comes bundled in the box), but MagSafe Duo owners may not be able to take advantage of this feature. According to Apple, the new Apple Watch Series 7 can go from 0 to 80% charge in about 45 minutes when using the new USB-C fast charging cable....

With filming gearing up to begin in August, Ava DuVernay has added Michael K. Williams, Vera Farmiga, and John Leguizamo to the cast of her Central Park Five limited series. The project marks the second collaboration for the Selma and A Wrinkle in Time director with Netflix after their efforts on the Oscar-nominated documentary 13th. Whereas that film examines how the U.S. criminal justice system has contributed to racial inequality in the country since the passing of the 13th Amendment (which abolishes slavery), Central Park Five zeroes in on a particularly egregious miscarriage of justice involving five young men of color from Harlem, who were convicted of raping a woman in 1989....

Ava DuVernay’s New Gods finds a writer in Chasing Mavericks’ Kario Salem. Warner Bros. isn’t slowing down when it comes to creating new movies based on DC Comics. Not only are the looking to expand their cinematic universe with Aquaman later this year, but they’ve got multiple DC films set to enter production this year. One of those may also be Todd Phillips’ Joker, the first outing from an “Elseworlds” banner....

One talented, creative Avengers fan just created some eye-popping neon character posters to celebrate Avengers: Infinity War. The long-awaited sequel is less than three months away from release, and finally fans have gotten a real taste of the movie with the first official trailer and a new preview that dropped during the Super Bowl. Although the imminent release of the extremely well-received Black Panther is picking up much of the Marvel buzz right now, the promotional push for Infinity War is very much in motion....

Marvel Studios is currently keeping every detail about Avengers 4 under wraps, refusing to even announce the film’s title. That high degree of secrecy makes the image particularly exciting. It’s not possible to say for certain that this artwork is official. The website that originally published it didn’t give away its sources, so it should be taken with a pinch of salt....

Batgirl and Harley Quinn are the only constants in Birds of Prey’s dueling scripts. Warner Bros. has rediscovered interest in a female-led project. After finding great success with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, one of the reported priorities for the studio was Batgirl. Joss Whedon wound up leaving that project, giving a very uncertain future. But they also developed several projects for Margot Robbie to star as Harley Quinn. One of those was Birds of Prey, and it’s now a major priority after Christina Hodson delivered a great script....

Carrie Fisher’s posthumous return as Leia in Star Wars 9 isn’t the first time a movie has completed using footage of deceased actors. Fisher will be part of Episode IX thanks to director J.J. Abrams’ plan to incorporate unused footage of the late Carrie Fisher from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. For fans who don’t wish for Leia to abruptly disappear from the final chapter of the Skywalker saga but also don’t want to see the beloved actress rendered via CGI (the way a younger version of Leia was in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), this is the best possible move to include the character in the film....
