Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is a somewhat divisive movie. Like Man of Steel before it, criticisms abound about it being too dark and not getting the characters right. Where it differs from Man of Steel, though, is in its profitability. As significant as the marketing push for it has been, one might assume Batman V Superman would edge out its predecessor as far as profit margins go. However, with a bigger budget comes the need for bigger box-office earnings, and earnings for Batman V Superman have not quite been where Warner Bros....

In 2011, American Horror Story hit screens, and TV hasn’t been the same since. Its unique content and interesting urban legends have definitely put it on the map. The mystery, gore, and madness have drawn a number of dedicated fans and lots of love from critics. AHS is currently the best mess on television. Each season is full of characters, flashbacks, and plot twists. These things keep fans guessing, but they also create some problems....

Captain America originally had a hilarious cameo in Ant-Man and The Wasp. Marvel Studios’ 2018 slate is already complete now that the sequel to Ant-Man is in theaters. Much like the first film, the sequel largely stands on its own. There’s references to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe of course, but this time director Peyton Reed and his team didn’t work in any surprise cameos. In the first film, Anthony Mackie reprised his role as Falcon to tie everything together....

Apple Watch blood pressure measurement has long been rumored, but a Nikkei report yesterday suggested that the feature would be included in the upcoming Series 7 model. Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says not, in a two-word reply to someone querying that on Twitter … Nikkei‘s report focused on claims of production problems with the latest Watch. But it said that one example of those “significant” differences was blood pressure measurement. Production of the upcoming Apple Watch has been delayed in large part due to the complicated designs of the new smartwatch, Nikkei Asia has learned....

Ruby Rose’s casting as Kate Kane in the upcoming Batwoman television series has won the endorsements of both Arrow star Stephen Amell and Batwoman co-creator Greg Rucka. The praise from Rucka and Amell marks only the latest in a long wave of approval regarding the Orange is the New Black actress’s casting as the superhero. The character will be introduced to the Arrowverse in this fall’s annual crossover event between several of The CW’s superhero shows....

Baz Luhrmann casts Austin Butler in the lead role of his as yet untitled Elvis Presley biopic. News of Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic first broke way back in 2014, but following that announcement there was little in the way of new information about the project. A few months ago, however, it was revealed that Tom Hanks had been cast as the rock and roll icon’s manager Colonel Tom Parker and since then the search has been on for the biopic’s star....

It’s unclear if this is a temporary glitch or an intentional move. As the skill is still available in the UK and some other markets, it seems more like a bug. However, we could not get official confirmation at time of writing of the true cause. The Apple Music Alexa integration first rolled out in 2018. Apple Podcasts support rolled out a year after. The skill for Apple Podcasts remains available in the US....

Every TV show that has ever existed longs to get its audience emotionally invested into its story and its characters, but it’s rare that shows manage to engage their audiences (and crush their hearts and souls) in the way that Angel did. It’s easily one of the best genre-shows ever created, and it’s brutal plot twists were powerful enough to leave a permanent mark on the minds of its viewers....

It’s been eight years since Apple unveiled its last retail in the United Kingdom. Now, it appears the company is readying another store in the region. As reported by Michael Steeber in his latest Tabletops newsletter, Apple has begun hiring for a brand new store in Greater London, which will be the first new store location in the UK since Apple Edinburgh opened in 2014. Steeber also notes that apart from that, the last most significant project in the region was the renovation of Apple Covent Garden in 2018....

Aquaman director James Wan inspired Willem Dafoe’s return to the superhero genre. In the film, Dafoe plays Arthur Curry’s longtime guardian Nuidis Vulko, but his most previous brush with the genre was in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man as the villainous Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. In Aquaman, Vulko is one of a few Atlanteans who has sworn their allegiance to Arthur, the son of Queen Atlanna (Nicole Kidman). As a war between the ocean world and the surface world brews, Vulko must hide his true allegiance from King Orm (Patrick Wilson), Arthur’s half-brother....

Warner Bros has already endured its share of turbulent waters during their maiden voyage into the world of interconnected superhero filmmaking. Their shaky, yet profitable, releases of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, left as many questions as they answered. However, with a full slate of movies still on the way, there isn’t much room left for further missteps. Wonder Woman is currently riding a wave of goodwill leading into her solo film next summer, while most are giving Justice League another chance after a successful Comic Con trailer....

While audiences got their first look at the live-action Amanda Waller of the DC Extended Universe in the form of Suicide Squad’s Viola Davis, the character already had a loyal live-action fandom as presented on The CW series Arrow. Cynthia Addai-Robinson portrayed the popular morally-ambiguous DC Comics government agent on the series in seasons past, but departed when the character was unexpectedly killed off in one of the show’s more unexpected plot turns....

Now that Captain America: Civil War has premiered in the U.S., Marvel Studios has officially kicked off Phase 3 of its Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will include plenty of new characters. In addition to introducing Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) in Civil War - both of whom will go on to star in their own standalone movies - Phase 3 will feature films following Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Captain Marvel....
