Apple has today launched one of the few outstanding iOS 15 features first demoed at WWDC. In partnership with Hyatt Hotels, Apple users will be able to use their iPhone, or Apple Watch, as their room key in the initial rollout of six hotels. You add your key to Wallet in much the same way as you might add a cinema ticket or DisneyWorld pass, using the hotelier’s app. As soon as you book your reservation, you can add your key to the Wallet app ready for when you arrive....

After three months of testing, Apple is now releasing tvOS 15 and HomePod 15 to the public. This means anyone with an Apple TV HD (or newer) and HomePod or HomePod mini can download this update. tvOS 15 and HomePod 15 aren’t receiving as big of an update as iOS 15. As a matter of fact, Apple barely talked about them during the WWDC21 keynote back in June. Both of the operating systems have the same build of the Release Candidate version of last week: 19J6346....

Apple on Tuesday announced that it has filed a lawsuit against NSO Group, which is known for developing the advanced spyware “Pegasus” to attack and surveil users of iOS and Android devices. The company claims that it is suing the creators of the spyware to “prevent further abuse and harm to its users.” Pegasus was developed with governments and law enforcement agencies in mind since the NSO Group does not sell the spyware to regular users....

The first Matter-compatible accessories were expected to come later this year, and Apple is laying the foundation for support in iOS 15. Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) CEO Tobin Richardson announced the delay in a blog post today, as reported by The Verge. Companies such as Philips Hue have promised to bring Matter support to their existing accessories, which could happen in early 2022.
