At long last, Batman Beyond is finally getting an all-inclusive HD remaster Blu-ray release this year. Having started and completed its brief run at the turn of the millennium, the cult classic animated TV series is getting the modern makeover it deserves in honor of its twentieth anniversary. Following the intertwined stories of an elderly, retired Bruce Wayne and his newly orphaned teen protegé, Terry McGinnis, Batman Beyond was set in a hyper-futuristic Neo-Gotham in the year 2039....

Zack Snyder continues to peel back the layers of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, this time focusing on Flash’s Knightmare sequence. Sndyer’s time in the DCEU may now be done, but that doesn’t mean the analysis of his work in this universe is. Apple’s engineering VP that’s been responsible for leading efforts like CarPlay and Group FaceTime is leaving the company. John Stauffer is set to start his new role as VP of engineering at Roblox after more than two decades at Apple and 14 years as an executive. Reported by Axios, Stauffer was Roblox’s pick after talking with “a few hundred” potential candidates over the last year to lead its engineering team. He’s set to start the new position next week....

Kuo claims that Apple’s industrial design requirements for the new head-mounted display are “much higher than competitors’ products.” The analyst says that Apple wants to have a solid ecosystem of hardware, software, and services at launch. As a result, the product could be delayed. Based on sources in Apple’s supply chain, Ming-Chi Kuo believes that mass production of Apple’s new headset will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022, while it was previously scheduled for the second quarter of 2022....

Storing IDs within Apple Wallet is increasingly becoming more commonplace. A school in North Dakota is launching mobile IDs in Apple Wallet and Google Pay ahead of the fall semester. Valley City State University (VCSU) students, faculty, and staff are now able to hold their Viking Mobile ID on their iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android device. With just a tap, the mobile ID can be used to purchase meals and also access buildings on campus....

Aquaman - the latest film in Warner Bros.’ DCEU franchise - continues to make bank worldwide, crossing the $500 million mark at the box office. After the critical and commercial disaster that was Justice League, DC Films was badly in need of a win. Unlike Marvel Studios, which released three new MCU films in 2018, DC took nearly the entire year off. Thankfully, director James Wan’s Aquaman movie seems to have given the DCEU the win it so sorely needed, and hopefully gotten the franchise back headed in the right direction....

A new image and piece of concept from Aquaman feature the Atlanteans heading into battle on the backs of some fearsome sea creatures. When Aquaman was first announced as heading to the DCEU with Jason Momoa in the role, the actor and Man of Steel director Zack Snyder tried valiantly to prove the character was tougher than his public perception. Back in 2014, Snyder promised Aquaman would be “badass” and Justice League went out of its way trying to paint the hero as the rockstar of the group....

Eight seasons is a lot for any series, but on a show like American Horror Story, that honestly feels more like fifteen. The show crams an incredible amount into each season and even though every year has a centralized theme, that doesn’t mean that plenty of other weird and unusual supernatural relics can’t also come to visit....

Apple is bringing back its “Tech Talks” experience for developers this year. Environmental lead Lisa Jackson has acknowledged in a podcast that Apple buys carbon offsets in order to hit its “100% carbon neutral” claim, but says that this is a relatively small proportion of the company’s total usage. Interviewed on the Jane Goodall Hopecast, Jackson said that a lot of companies are satisfied with simply buying offsets, but that’s not Apple’s approach … She said that she joined Apple because it had already made a lot of progress, and because it could serve as an example for other companies about the practicality of shifting to clean energy – starting with its own suppliers....

Today, Apple announced the last M1 chip of the family, the M1 Ultra chip. This processor combines two M1 Max processors as a single chip. After just unveiling the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips in October, Apple is now releasing the M1 Ultra processor, offering 128GB of unified memory. With 114 billion transistors, it features 800GB/s of memory bandwidth and 2.5TB/s interprocessor bandwidth. This 20-core CPU processor offers 16 high-performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores....

Apple is continuing to invest in original podcast production. Bloomberg today reported that Apple has signed a deal with award-winning production company Futuro Studios. Under the arrangement, Apple funds Futuro’s development of new podcasts but retains rights to the intellectual property to convert any of the works into video content — television shows and movies — for its streaming service Apple TV+. This is a continuation of its podcasts strategy to date, which has seen Apple release a handful of Apple Original podcast series through its TV+ division....

Pretend to be shocked: Apple has been slapped with another fine of five million euros by the Authority for Consumers and Markets in the Netherlands. This comes after the Dutch watchdog took issue with Apple’s proposed plans for third-party App Store payments, and Apple has not yet addressed the regulator’s concerns. The ACM is holding true to its plans to charge Apple a five million euro fine every week after Apple missed a January 15 deadline to address antitrust concerns around the App Store....

Apple today began selling the 8th-generation iPad in its Refurbished Store, which was officially released in late 2020. Customers can now save up to $90 when buying the latest entry-level iPad model when compared to the retail price. As noted by MacRumors, prices start at $279 for the refurbished Wi-Fi model with 32GB of storage, which costs $329 when purchased in the regular Apple Store. However, while Apple lists all 8th-generation iPad models in its Refurbished Store, only the Wi-Fi version with 128GB of storage is currently available, while the others are “out of stock....
