While Fox is promoting The Predator at Comic-Con International 2018 in sunny San Diego, Fox Home Entertainment has an even larger presence to promote the August home video release of Deadpool 2. Following the abuse allegations made by Chloe Dykstra, AMC is under pressure to cancel soon to return chat show Talking with Chris Hardwick. To say it hasn’t been a great day for the former @Midnight host would be a massive understatement. Early on Friday, Hardwick’s ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra published an essay detailing a long-term, disturbingly abusive relationship she had once been involved in. While Hardwick’s name wasn’t mentioned in the post, in was quite obvious based on the details provided that he was the person being talked about....

MGM has revealed the cast and plot for its animated Addams Family movie, along with the first official artwork. The creepy and kooky Addams Family originated in a series of single panel cartoons drawn for The New Yorker in the 1930s, but have since made the jump to cartoon TV series, live-action TV shows, and even live-action movies over the decades since then. Tim Burton is (unsurprisingly) among the Addams’ biggest fans and was loosed attached to direct a stop-motion Addams Family movie back in the late 2000s, but the film never made it past the early development stage....

Apple today announced another step in the international expansion of the Apple Developer Academy. After bringing the program to South Korea earlier this year, the company will build the first Apple Developer Academy headquarters in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The news was confirmed to the local Saudi Gazette newspaper (via AppleInsider), which reported that Riyadh will be the first city in the Middle East to have an Apple Developer Academy institution....

Apple Pay is further expanding, this time to Qatar. With QNB bank, the country joins a list of more than 60 regions supporting Apple’s own payment system. According to a support page by QNB, users with a credit, debit, or prepaid card can add them through the QNB Mobile Banking app and start using Apple Pay. Apple is releasing today iOS 15.2, iPadOS 15.2, watchOS 8.3, tvOS 15.2, and HomePod Software version 15.2 to all users. This update brings support to Apple Music Voice Plan and more. iOS 15.2 brings a few notable changes for iPhone and iPad users. Most notably, it adds the full “App Privacy Report” feature to the Settings application. With this, users can now see the data accessed by applications, including third-party apps and Apple apps....

Apple this week quietly released a new tvOS app on the App Store called “Apple Partner Media Review.” This, however, is not an app aimed at regular users. Instead, it helps studios review their video content on an Apple TV. As briefly described by the company on the app’s page, Apple Partner Media Review was created with studios and encoding houses in mind. The app basically lets providers of movies and TV shows check their content with all the details directly on Apple TV prior to publication....

Apple TV+ has renewed its mysterious workplace thriller ‘Severance’ for a second season, ahead of the season one finale premiering this Friday. Although Apple does not release exact viewing figures, Severance does appear to be one of Apple TV+’s relative breakout hits, with word of mouth increasing every week since the season debuted in February. Severance is based on the premise of a mysterious company called Lumon Industries, which features a severed floor wherein workers cannot recall their personal memories....

20th Century Fox debuted both the trailer and two scenes from Alien: Covenant at a recent press event in New York, as part of a concerted effort to get people buzzing about the upcoming Alien film ahead of the trailer’s official release. The theatrical preview for director Ridley Scott’s sci-fi/horror movie - a project that will help to bridge the gap between Scott’s 2012 prequel/spinoff Prometheus and his original 1979 classic Alien - is expected to debut online soon, before being attached to fellow Fox release Assassin’s Creed in theaters this month....

AMC moves forward with its planned series based on Joe Hill’s novel NOS4A2, by officially greenlighting the project after a lengthy development period. The decision gives the cable network a chance to deliver a genre hit with a supernatural horror series that also has the benefit of a built-in audience thanks to Hill’s name.
