Supergirl finds herself imprisoned by her own sister, Alex Danvers, in the latest teaser trailer for the Arrowverse Elseworlds crossover event. The CW’s shared DC superhero TV universe launched with Arrow in 2012 and later added the spinoffs The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Supergirl started its own run as a series on CBS, but saw its ratings dwindle off over the course of its first season. The CW ordered Batwoman season 1 in May 2019, so what can fans expect from the next big superhero TV show? Based on the DC Comics character Kate Kane, the series was developed for television by Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) and acclaimed writer-producer Greg Berlanti. Batwoman season 1 will take place in the Arrowverse, and the character was first introduced in last year’s “Elseworlds” crossover. Apple Pay is expanding to three new countries. Starting today, users in Costa Rica, Colombia, and Azerbaijan can make payments through Apple’s payment platform. In Costa Rica, at least Banco Promerica, BAC Credomatic, and BCR are supporting credit cards through Apple Pay. All these bank apps have been updated over the past few days to bring support to the Apple Wallet. In Colombia, at least Bancolombia is already supporting Apple’s own payment system, as spotted by Twitter user David Mendes, then later confirmed by Apple through its own webpage....
Two weeks after the release of iOS 15.3, Apple is now rolling out iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1 to iPhone and iPad users. Apple last month settled a lawsuit against Chicago as the city imposed a new local tax for streaming services. At the time, the company feared that the action would result in a ruling that such a tax is completely legal, which could set precedents for other governments to do the same. The company will begin collecting the tax for subscribers in Chicago starting next month. Director Neill Blomkamp’s currently untitled Alien 5 has been placed on hold while Ridley Scott works on his Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant. However, all signs are pointing to the film still coming through the pipeline in the near future. Franchise star Sigourney Weaver recently stated that she would be surprised if the sequel was not made, indicating that Fox plans to move forward on Blomkamp’s movie once Covenant is completed - as has been the plan since the project was initially delayed last year....
Antoine Fuqua has revealed that Sony approached him to direct Morbius the Living Vampire. Fuqua and Sony have a working relationship that goes back twenty years, starting with the director’s feature debut on Chow Yun-Fat’s The Replacement Killers. The filmmaker has since then successfully rebooted The Equalizer and Magnificent Seven for the studio, so it’s only makes sense for them to approach Fuqua about tackling one of the more obscure characters from their burgeoning Spider-Man antihero universe that Tom Hardy’s Venom will kick off this fall....

Haiti is facing another crisis after being struck by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Saturday, killing at least 300 people and injuring over 1,800. Apple CEO Tim Cook tweeted today that Apple will donate money to the country. “Our hearts are with all those in Haiti who are once again facing the consequences of a devastating earthquake,” wrote Tim Cook in this Twitter account today. “Apple will be donating to assist relief and recovery efforts in the affected communities....

After about a month of beta testing, Apple is finally releasing watchOS 8.1 to all developers. Different from iOS 15.1 and other operating systems, watchOS 8.1 is all about minor updates.
